October 22, 2009

New York, NY – Kyowa Hakko USA, the makers of Cognizin® Citicoline will have Team Cognizin® take part in sponsoring the 21st Annual New York City Chapter Alzheimer's 2-mile Memory Walk on Sunday, October 25, at Riverside Park in Manhattan at West 97th Street and Riverside Drive.

Scheduled to draw an estimated 3,000 participants, all walkers will receive participant bags that include the Healthy Living Guide Brain Health booklet by Perry Renshaw, MD, PhD of The Brain Health Institute at the University of Utah and Kyowa Sudoku puzzle pads. Kyowa will also have a sponsor table providing brain health literature and Cognizin™ information.

Memory Walk is a community event that joins friends, family and co-workers as they walk to end Alzheimer's. Participants register in teams of 10-12 people using tools supported by the Alzheimer's Association to fundraise. Walks vary from one to three miles and are held in nearly 600 locations nationwide.

The Alzheimer's Association Memory Walk® is the nation's largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer care, support and research – and it calls on volunteers of all ages to become champions in the fight against this fatal disease. Since 1989, Memory Walk has raised more than $260 million for the cause. The money raised will go toward research to treat and prevent Alzheimer's, and programs to improve the lives of millions of Americans.
