Select Supplements, Inc. will offer greater R&D capabilities in the highly competitive contract manufacturing market.
Carlsbad, CA – Select Supplements, Inc. (SSI), a cGMP Registered and one of only six NSF International certified for sport contract manufacturers of quality softgels, capsules and other dietary supplement forms based in Carlsbad, CA, under the ownership of Kyowa Hakko U.S.A., Inc., has announced it has signed a contract to sell its business operations and assets to Advanced NutriSolutions (ANS) of Vista, CA, a leading supplier of premium natural ingredients worldwide to the nutraceutical industry. SSI has been known for its team of scientists and engineers who produce specialized softgels for the dietary supplement industry using superior Japanese soft gelatin encapsulation lines, state of the art Bosch two-piece hard shell encapsulation equipment, and cutting edge Bohle powder blending capabilities. The company’s technical capabilities feature a variety of testing and analytical methods including high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), ultraviolet-visible spectroscopy (UV-Spectrophotometer) and gas chromatography (GC).
ANS has provided raw materials and finished products in the form of capsules, softgels and its EZPour™ stick packs. Its ingredients include conventional and organic whole fruit and vegetable powders, PhytoSelect™ selective botanicals and vitamins.
SSI, under the new ownership of Advanced NutriSolutions will continue to operate under the same company name and retain existing customer business contracts.
“We feel the sale of business operations and assets will enable SSI, under ANS’s operation, to maintain success in the highly competitive contract manufacturing market,” said Toshiaki Mizutani, SSI president.
Under ANS, Select Supplements will have greater potential for expansion, not only for the existing encapsulation business, but also for the new stick pack business recently introduced by ANS.
“We will merge our current business model into SSI within the next few months,” said Dr. Bruce Howe, ANS founder.
“ANS has the capability to expand SSI’s business by the addition of new state of the art manufacturing equipment, including co-packing, enabling SSI to provide customers a turnkey operation,” said Dr. Howe.
“SSI under ANS’s operation and Kyowa Hakko intend to further develop our business relationship and collaboration, with the possibility of co-developing branded ingredients for the nutraceutical industry” added Mizutani.
