New York, NY – Kyowa Hakko U.S.A., Inc., manufacturer of the dietary supplement, cosmetic, and pharmaceutical industries’ most extensive line of Amino Acids and related compounds, including D-Amino Acids and Branch-Chain Amino Acids, announced that it has applied a 10 percent price increase to its specific line of L-Amino Acids, effective April 1, 2007.

Amino Acids are produced at Kyowa Hakko’s four manufacturing plants located in the U.S., Japan, and China. Amino Acids are used in a wide variety of pharmaceutical and nutritional applications.

“The high level of demand and the increased value placed on Kyowa Hakko Amino Acids by our customers combined with margin deterioration has highlighted the need to ensure the long-term product availability at acceptable returns,” said Chikakuni Kotani, president of Kyowa Hakko U.S.A., Inc.

“Raising prices also safeguards the ongoing investment necessary to keep pace with the growing demand to produce top quality ingredients,” Kotani added.

Kyowa Hakko, maker of the branded ingredients Cognizin™ Citicoline, Kyowa CoQ10™, Lumistor™ L-Hydroxyproline, Hydrafend™ Hyaluronic Acid and Setria™ Glutathione, also offers a line of nucleic acids, bio-products and fine chemicals.
